Care and Maintenance

Please first refer to your products manufacturer's guidlines. If you cannot access them the following suggestions should be followed:

What are the best room conditions for hardwood and laminate?Your room humidity levels should be kept within the manufacturer's guidelines.It is recommended that relative humidity in a home remain consistent in the healthy range of 40-60% and room temperature at 18-24 °C throughout the year with a maximum surface temperature 27 °C and maximum daily temperature variation 5 °CA dehumidifier or a humidifier may be required on the premises depending on the climate conditions How should I clean and maintain my hardwood and laminate floor?Attach felt pads to all appropriate items of furnitureNever drag items of furniture across the floor, always liftIf furniture is fitted with castors ensure they are of the soft castor typeDo not use a steam cleaner to clean the floorOnly use a hardwood flooring cleaner. Do not apply any type of sealant/wax/varnish/finish of any description to the laminate or hardwood floor. Doing so may invalidate your guarantee.Use only sparse quantities cleaners when cleaning your floor. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines.Can I use a beater brush on berber or shag carpet?Most manufacturers of carpet do not recommend using a beater bar or rotating brush attachment because these can snag a loop and pull off a complete line. Should I seal the grout of my floor tile?It is recommended to seal the grout lines after the grout has completely dried. This may take from 3-7 days after the install. It is highly recommended you seal the grout to help prevent grout discolouration or staining. Grout sealers can be purchased at The Home Depot or other retailers. Please follow the instructions on the bottle.Why does my floor need to be acclimatized?Allure, hardwood and laminate need to be acclimatized to prevent swelling or shrinking after the floor is laid. The flooring must be left inside your home, preferably in the same room as the floor is to be installed following the Manufacturer's specific guidelinesWhy does my hardwood squeak?Moisture absorption causes wood to swell, and moisture loss causes wood to shrink.The noise in wood flooring is caused by two pieces of wood rubbing against one another. Because wood does not shrink or swell equally in all directions, creaking and squeaking noises occur.Keeping your home at a constant level of humidity will help minimize squeaking. Control humidity levels by using a dehumidifier or humidifier. You may need to add portable units in some rooms.

What we need from you..

We require our installers to have the following:

Motivated customer first attitude

Minimum 5 years installing flooring, tile or kitchens

Have your own vehicle and tools

Have a registered business with CRA and HST

Have a valid WSIB account if you have any helpers

Have liability insurance

Be able to work on your own with little supervision

Be able to problem solve when necessary
